Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church is located at 143 Seminole Circle in
Fairfield, Alabama. Established in 1928, the church has been an integral part
of the Fairfield community for over 75 years. David W. Craig is the Senior
Pastor of Mt. Pilgrim.
In October 1997, under the leadership of Pastor Craig, Mt. Pilgrim
established The People Development Center (PDC). PDC has 501c3
status and serves as the non-profit arm by which the church provides
various social services to the community regardless of religious
affiliation. The mission of PDC is to help individuals build themselves
economically, educationally, socially, and spiritually. The focus of its
services is helping the needy and the homeless.
Services provided by PDC fill a critical gap for individuals and families
located throughout Jefferson County. PDC is currently in the process of
expanding from part-time operation to full-time operation, PDC will be better
able to serve the many needy individuals and families who are seeking
assistance in Jefferson County.
